Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Belém Tower included?
Yes! Entry to the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery is included in all plans, with no extra charge. The only formality for these two monuments: a free time slot must be booked online once you have collected your card.
What is the validity period?
The validity period is in hours (not days). If you choose the 48h Lisboa Card and activate it at 3:00 PM on Monday, you can enjoy entries and unlimited transport until 2:59 PM on Wednesday.
Do children need a card?
Children under 4 do not need a card. For ages 4-15, a reduced rate is available. Good to know: at a few sites (São Jorge Castle, the Fado Museum and Lisbon's municipal museums) the child card does not cover 13- to 15-year-olds, who pay a youth ticket on site.
Can I go to Sintra?
Yes! The train to Sintra and Cascais is included. Perfect for a day trip.
Is the card refundable?
Yes, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the pick-up date you selected, with a full refund. And if your trip shifts slightly, no worries: you have 28 days from that date to collect your card, which is only activated on first use on site in Lisbon.
Are there any closing days?
Note that many monuments and museums are closed on Mondays (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Coach Museum…). A good plan for Monday: São Jorge Castle, Ajuda National Palace, the Royal Treasure Museum, Pilar 7, the Lisboa Story Centre, the Rua Augusta Arch and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos stay open and are free with the card, as are the Oceanarium (-15%) and the Palácio da Pena in Sintra (-10%). Also note: in 2026 several national museums are temporarily closed for renovation (the Tile Museum and the Museum of Ancient Art in particular), with reopening expected during 2026. Check before you visit!

How much time do I have to use my voucher?
You have 28 days from the pick-up date selected at purchase to exchange your voucher for your Lisboa Card. The card is only activated on first use on site, so if your stay shifts slightly there is no problem! For a longer postponement, cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the pick-up date and order again.
