Frequently asked questions
FAQ about buying the Lisboa Card
What are the benefits of the pass?
Among the activities of the Lisboa Card, you can access 51 sites, monuments and museums in Lisbon, as well as unlimited use of the city's public transport, and discounts on other attractions, in restaurants and in some shops.
Which payment methods are accepted?
For an online purchase, bank cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, American Express…) as well as payments via PayPal and other platforms such as iDEAL and Scalapay.
On the spot at the Ask Me Lisboa tourist offices, you can only pay in cash or by bank card (Visa & Mastercard).
Can you get a Lisboa Card at the airport?
It is entirely possible to buy and collect a Lisboa Card at the airport, at the Ask Me Lisboa counters located in the arrivals terminal. However, the airport tourist office desks are often crowded with visitors and queues form very regularly.
It is therefore usually quicker to go to one of the other points of sale, in particular at certain stations and metro stops (Santa Apolónia, Oriente…).
Is the Lisboa Card sold in shops?
No. The Lisboa Card is not sold in shops, petrol stations, tobacconists or convenience stores. The only way to get it in person is at one of the many branches of the Lisbon tourist office (Ask Me Lisboa).
Can you buy the pass for someone else?
The Lisboa Card is a personal, named card. When it is activated, the person's name is written on it and it cannot be shared.
That said, you do not have to give a name at the time of purchase. So it is perfectly possible to buy the card for someone else.
Are there reduced rates for children?
There is no discount for seniors. Children aged 4 to 15 do get reduced rates: €21 (24h), €28 (48h) and €35 (72h).
You must buy at least one adult ticket in order to buy one or more child tickets. In Lisbon, entry is free for children under 4 at the vast majority of tourist sites.
How long is it valid after purchase?
If you book online, the voucher must be exchanged for a physical card within 28 days of the date given at the time of purchase.
Once exchanged, the Lisboa Card only starts on its first use on site.
Can you cancel a Lisboa Card purchase?
For a purchase on the spot, the purchase cannot be cancelled. No refund will be given, even if the card has not yet been activated.
For an online purchase, the order can be cancelled until 11.59pm the day before the date you chose. In that case, a full refund is given.
Are the tourist offices ever closed?
All Ask Me Lisboa offices are exceptionally closed on 25 December and 1 January.
